Latin America - on the trail of the Bowen ancestors
In 1879 Albert Edward Bowen, Mike's great-grandfather, left Birmingham, England and set sail for Argentina. He was 21 yealrs old. He became a partner in the importing firm of John Shaw in Buenos Ayres. In 1884 he married Alice Anita Crowther and set up home in San José de Flores. He became a director of the Buenos Ayres Western Railway in 1903 and the town of Bowen, near Mendoza, was named after him. We plan to visit Buenos Aires and Bowen but beforehand, we will visit Uruguay and afterwards, we will travel to Chile, Peru, Brazil, Mexico and Costa Rica.
