DOTS and SPOTS. HIGHLIGHTS of GREECE 2010-2011

Greece is a Mediterranean country, and summer starts earlier here. The end of May is considered to be the beginning of summer, with the first attempts of swimming and sunbathing, outdoor sports, and excursions. Greeks might be facing an economic crisis this year however they know well that with very little money they can enjoy the Greek beauty, so when the weather is good they won't stay at home but get out and enjoy the beautiful countryside, or get to a beach and have fun. It is no need to be rich to enjoy all these. Greece is full of beautiful coasts with crystal clear turquoise waters, and I feel privileged that Evia - the place where we live, has so many of them. I have already been to many interesting spots in the round area since May. This time however, instead of getting to a nice beach in May, we did just the opposite. Our first summer trip was to the highlands of Corinth. Later on we went to Chios for a week (see the blog). This blog consists of trips we have had in Athens, touring the island of Evia where I include a trip to Kymi and Steni, the Mountain of Dirfi, the Island of Skyros (round trip) the Peloponese (Tripolis, Monemvasia, Vitina, Gythio,Sparta and Mystras. A trip to Serres and Alistrati in the north of Greece.
