CYPRUS GUIDE #7: Τhrough Cyprus with the Camera -Spring 2014

If you thought Cyprus was always dry and dusty, think again, for spring here is ...oh! It is So GREEN! Springtime is just the Best and is where the magic begins, so I am back for more. It never ceases to amaze me how plants can withstand such intense changes in temperature yet still survive. The winter's rains bring the countryside to life. February and March are months of verdant colours to savour. The Cyprus countryside in spring is the masses of yellow flowers. For some reason, the yellow flowers arrive first. By March, the wild flowers are every colour you can imagine. Sure the weather is a bit variable than the height of the summer, but the vibrant landscape makes sitting out the odd shower totally worthwhile. I wonder how ready you are to follow me on this new 3 week tour once again. Besides the 3 main cities, LARNACA, NICOSIA, and LIMASSOL, I am visiting TOCHNI, a beautiful village in the District of Larnaca, situated close to the NEOLITHIC site of CHIROKITIA. If I can make it I plan stepping over the green line in Nicosia and have a stroll in the north side as well. I have never visited it in my entire life so this must be interesting I guess! The next JEWEL I am counting in, is the idyllic village of KAKOPETRIA. If you have not as yet been here, I am sure you will want to visit after reading my short report and seeing the beautiful photos that I plan taking out here. A few days before flying back to Greece I plan to have a day trip to AYIA NAPA the very touristy resort, everyone knows about for its beautiful sandy beaches and nightlife. So, come along.
