China Two

This journal is not a diary of all that happened to me during my time overseas in China but rather includes a collection of observations or feelings. Some of these observations are about the country I visited - different practices or objects - but some are about me and how I dealt with the situations I was in. Some are merely interesting things along the way, & I am able to define interesting how I like! And the name of the journal? I wondered when you would ask. I visited China for the first time in 2009 when I was there for about 3 weeks. I also studied in China for 2 months in February / March 2011 for a CELTA English teaching qualification and enjoyed some of the Chinese New Year / Spring Festival on that trip. So this is my third trip to China, although the plan is to stay longer this time. It is also the second time I have gone to another country to live and work. I lived in Japan for a year and now I plan to live in China Too. So why "Two" if it is the third trip to China? I was planning on including the material about my CELTA study time in this journal but have since decided not to. But I decided to stick with the "Two" name. Perhaps I'll change that one day. (Now if I knew how to say "Do you understand?" in Chinese I would. As I don't, I'm going to rely on a website to translate it for me so it is all Microsoft Bing Translator's fault (see www.microsofttranslator.com) Here you go: 你明白吗? Oh, I have also put a couple of short 'side trips' on here as they have happened during my time in China. The monkey? I met him / her a couple of weeks after arriving in Tianjin. I had a play with him for 10 minutes or so, a new experience for me. Can you tell which one in the picture is me? Also, as there are two of us in the picture I guess that could be another reason for the blog title, but no, I hadn't planned it that way.
