Winter in Khao Lak 2019 - 2020

I arrived back in the UK on 31 March which was to have been the day when the UK left the EU. Now as I prepare to return to Thailand we are about to pass the next deadline date, 31 October. The nation is thoroughly sick of discussions about Brexit, which has been top of the agenda in domestic politics now for the last 3 years. Sadly a solution to the parliamentary impasse seems as far away as ever! The summer months have flown by. The weather has been a little disappointing but I have still managed to fit in a lot of enjoyable walking, locally, in the Lake District and also in the Douro Valley in Portugal. Hilary has accompanied me on two trips further afield, the first to the Balkans and the second to the South Caucasus. Both were fascinating regions to explore. Now I'm ready to return to a very familiar region, southern Thailand.
