Winter in Khao Lak 2014-2015

When I boarded the plane to Thailand twelve months ago I was a very nervous person, travelling alone for the first time in my life and unsure as to whether I had made the right decision in committing myself to an extended stay far away from my home and from my friends. This year, as I set off to do exactly the same, I have no such qualms. My four months in Khao Lak last winter were wonderful. Leisure time spent relaxing with a good book by the pool or on one of the many lovely beaches was balanced by a few hours each day spent helping teach English to the local school children. This proved to be a winning formula for the perfect escape from the English winter and one which I am looking forward to repeating.
