Winter in Khao Lak 2015-2016

For as long as I can remember I have had an insatiable appetite for travel, arriving home from one overseas adventure and immediately setting about planning the next one. There was so much of the world still to see! I found it difficult to understand how some people could feel satisfied with returning to the same place for their holidays, year after year. So I am as surprised as anyone to find myself preparing to spend my third consecutive winter in Khao Lak. Is this old age? Is the wanderlust waning? Or have I been searching all along for somewhere like this to settle and feel content? Whatever the reason, I am eagerly awaiting departure day. I have had an enjoyable summer, fitting in a lot of walking trips as well as visits to Slovenia, Crete and Ethiopia but am now ready to transfer to my winter bolt-hole in the sun.
