Angkor Wat, Cambodia, has always fascinated me. Vietnam is indelibly burned into my generation's memories. Availing ourselves of a riverboat cruise on the Mekong Delta and an overnight cruise in Ha Long Bay, we saw Vietnam from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi and Cambodia from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. In what was a master class in air travel planning, I figured out how to fly around the world on this trip: Houston -- Tokyo --Ho Chi Minh City -- Hanoi -- Paris -- Houston!
