In Search of the Brave Hugh..........

This blog takes me back in time, long before my time or even my father's time, on this earth to stand with a brave young man who made the ultimate sacrifice on a field of unimaginable horror. It is a story etched in tragedy, sacrifice and remembrance on the 100th Anniversary of a battle that resulted in an incomprehensible or unimaginable loss of life. I am going to battlefields of The Somme in northern France to remember my Great Uncle L Cpl Hugh Dingwall, 100 years to the hour in which he perished during the taking of the Schwaben Redoubt October 14th 1916, aged 19.
