Walking the Camino Frances

The Camino de Santiago is an ancient pilgrimage that began in the middle ages when people would leave their homes from all over Europe and journey on foot to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, the burial site of Saint James. The Camino Frances is the most popular route and stretches for 800 km beginning in St Jean Pied de Port in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains in France and travels across the north of Spain. My friend, Sheila, and I have set ourselves the challenge of completing this epic walk in about 40 days. We leave with high expectations and some trepidation. Will we make it all the way? Time will tell the story.
