Scamper on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way - Part 1 Jun 2023

We'd been thinking of touring Ireland for a couple of years and finally in 2023 we booked the ferries for June aiming to drive a section of the Wild Atlantic Way. This scenic long distance route stretches for Londonderry's Foyle Bridge to Kinsale in Cork. Taking in 9 counties and covering 2,400km of breathtaking scenery. On this trip we would travel a clockwise section from Kinsale to maybe Galway. Ireland being the Emerald Isle we hoped for good weather - and we got it. Throughout the blog you will read numerous references to the glorious weather we had in the 3 weeks, pinch me weather you would be pleased to get in the Med. 'Its normal' said many of the locals - 'that's blarney' we said !!
