Montana on my Mind, March 2009
Montana has been on my mind this winter. I'm not really sure why. I had a great autumn and winter over the last 5five to six months getting reacquainted with Colorado after several years away - hiking, cycling, skiing, making new friends, you name it. But I find once I'm somewhere for a while I always get the itch to take a longer trip to see some place new. There are not really many new places for me in the western U.S., and I have been to Montana before, but I thought I'd take my cousin Deb up on her open invitation and stay with her and her husband John in Belgrade near Bozeman for a week while exploring southwestern Montana, doing some skiing, and maybe taking a trip into Yellowstone. I can, of course, ski in Colorado and have been doing a lot of it this winter, but it's always fun to try some place new too.
