On the Road in America 2017

Well, I’ve decided it’s time to start a new blog for my American travels in 2017 and maybe into 2018. Although I did some travel in the northeastern U.S. during 2015 and 2016, most of the travel I did during those two years was outside the country. Instead of a separate blog for every short trip I take, it makes sense to me to include those I take together into one. As I’m starting this blog just before the middle of the year in 2017 those plans are tentatively for hiking in New England early in the summer, a road trip from New Jersey to Colorado and elsewhere in the Midwest and West later in the summer, and possibly some more in the east during the fall months. I am still unable to plan too far ahead at this point due to my mom’s Alzheimer’s condition, but she’s been fairly stable for quite some time. They say that variety is the spice of life, and travel certainly adds much to variety in life. Different kinds of travel are appealing as well. Too much of overland truck trips and I’m ready for a different type of travel. Too many long road trips in America and I’m eager to head overseas again. Too much time using public transport or city sightseeing in Europe and I’m ready to explore the remaining nooks and crannies of my own country that I haven’t seen yet. The latter is actually how I’ve been feeling around June 2017.
