Normandy, 70th Anniversary of D-Day

My mother and I are members of the Daughters of the American Revolution. This year marks the 70th anniversary of D-Day. Being new to the DAR, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit it, but history is not my strong suit, although I am working on it. My father, knowing my need for a fast history lesson, bought me an awesome 70th anniversary of D-Day magazine. He called it "D-Day's Cliffs Notes". I read that sucker front to back, and feel like I can officially leave for my trip and not be completely embarrassed by a lack of WWII knowledge. I hope you enjoy seeing the events, sharing our trip and hearing my thoughts on such an important time in American history. Merci! (My 3 years of French in college will be totally useless, I can't remember a word of it) On a side note, the wonderful ladies I'm traveling with from the DAR, were featured on Fox and KOLD, talking about our upcoming trip.
