You're Going to Iceland in January? Why!!!
When we told people that we were going to Iceland in mid-January, the nearly universal response was "Why!" Note the punctuation: this was not a question, but a shorthand interrogative for "Are you crazy?" Well, yes, we probably are. But I took the question at face value and answered, "Because there's only about 5 hours of daylight, it's really cold, it rains or snows almost constantly, it's extremely windy, and many of the tourist attractions are closed or inaccessible." Anyway, here we are!
