Tales from the Far East

nĭ hăo! (Hello!) We had booked a trip to China for October, 2015, but unfortunately had to cancel when Roger's dad passed away. And so we booked again, but a longer tour with a different tour company, for April, 2016. We have chosen a 21-day tour that helps us see the wonders of China, but also that allows us to connect with local culture - like long, overnite train rides in hard sleeper cars (not sure that was a good idea), a stay in a Buddhist mountain monastery, bicycle rides thru rice paddies, a 3-nite Chinese-style boat cruise, and meals with locals. The tour starts on April 3 and ends on April 23, but we have a couple of extra days at each end, arriving in Beijing on April 1 and departing Hong Kong on April 25. It will be an adventure! găitiān zàiliáo. (Talk to you soon.)
