Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost

Welcome to Part II of our worldwide wanderings. We're still not sure what we're looking for but that leaves us open to just about anything that's on offer. Sometimes it's the adventure, sports, and cheap thrills- sometimes it's the critters both above and below the waterline- sometimes it's the history, architecture, and ruins- and almost always it's the people and their culture. Big WOW's, little WOW's- the world does seem to offer an almost unlimited number of jaw-dropping sights and experiences. Through our travels, at some point we'd love to discover just what sort of footprint we'd like to leave but for now, wandering seems to be the right answer. After Part 1 (Letters From A World of WOW), a pit stop in Toronto was needed to make nice with the tax man, schedule an annual physical (can you call it an "annual" if you only go every five years?), strengthen some friendships (while others faded), and, most urgently, change out our wardrobe (apparently after 2 years of seeing each other in the same 5 frayed shirts a scenery change is needed). Chores done and batteries recharged, it's time to get back on the road. And just for something a little different, since our near term focus is Central and South America, we've decided on an extended stay in Costa Rica to try and pick up the fundamentals of Spanish. Going back to 'school' is generating anxieties (can you get detentions in language school??) but we're going to give it a try.
