A return trip to Laos ...
I returned to Laos in the winter of 2005 for 6 weeks before meeting up with Nat in India. I had spent 2 weeks in Laos in 2004 and really fell in love with the country and its welcoming, gentle, warm and laid back people. In 2004, I spent Lao New Year in Luang Prabang and I boated up the river to Muang Ngoy and Muang Khoua. This time, I flew into Bangkok and made my way to northern Thailand before crossing overland into Laos. I was all set to spend more time getting to know the north as I really enjoyed this part of the country last time. But I ended up fast tracking my way to the south of Laos and that is where I experienced my fondest memories of this trip.
