Guatemala 2010, a new decade an old favorite

We had planned something different for this winter, renting a house in Santa Cruz de Atitlan and integrating into that community of Mayans and expats. It was not to be however as Lago de Atitlan is infested with a seriously toxic form of cyanobacteria so we cancelled those plans and will just wing it. Our plan now is to spend a few days in the colonial city of Antigua before heading to northwestern Guatemala where we'll look for a humanitarian project to participate in. Versatility and an open mind is the name of the game for the rest of the journey.
