France 2013
In 3 days we've been to 3 Normandy cities. Each was wonderful in its unique way. Giverny is a picture postcard Norman town with Monet's gardens as a bonus. Rouen's cathedral in the old town which Monet painted many times was beautiful and we happened to walk in when an organist was plying the huge pipe organ. We also saw an exhibit of over 100 impressionist paintings, 40 of which were Monet's -- more than we've ever seen in one place at one time. It put the Giverny experience in a whole broader context. We've been in Honfleur today and it too is a picture postcard of a Norman town. We are loving the seafood, cider, and especially the cheese of the region. Everyone has been kind and friendly. Rick Steve's and Michelin have been great travel companions. Off to Bayeau tomorrow. Love, D&S
