Went off (again) to Mexico to try to improve my Spanish, disaster in Playa del Carmen, great time with family for 3 weeks, Memorable week with Doug in Cuba, back to Yucatan, then saw Doug on way back.

Went off (again) to Mexico to try to improve my Spanish, disaster in Playa del Carmen, great time with family for 3 weeks, Memorable week with Doug in Cuba, back to Yucatan, then saw Doug on way back.

The great thing about retiring early is being able to be with who you want to be with, where you want to be, when you want to be there. I like winter-Mexican experience. Alex & Theodora joined for three weeks and Doug flew down from Charlottesville. First week in my favourite Pacific resort - Mazunte; then a few days with Anna & Carlos in Cuernavaca, and finally to Acapulco where we all had a great time. When Alex & Theodora went back, Doug & I went in Cuba -awesome!! I then returned to Yucatan planning to learn some more Spanish. So-so, but then travelled around, saw lots of Aztec ruins, a swarm of locusts, lay on the beach a bit more.... and then flew up to the USA to see Doug and meet up with Alison
