Post-Covid return to France

Because of the Covid pandemic, like most people, I’ve felt extremely frustrated over the last two and a half years that a European holiday has just been out of the question. So, for first time since 2019 when I amazingly managed five overseas trips (NZ, Japan, Europe, Vietnam, and South Africa) I'm excited to be off overseas again. This time I'll have a simple itinerary as I'll be visiting just one country, France. In 2019 I enjoyed immensely a six-day hike of a French segment of the St James Way or Camino Trail. The beautiful pastoral scenery, the culture, and the opportunity to visit and explore a number of stunning mediaeval villages really grabbed me. So, this time I plan to redo the 2019 segment but will supplement it with five extra days and thus 200 kms of the Camino by starting further north in France. At the end of the walk, I have another challenge awaiting me. I plan to cycle over six days the 240 kms from Toulouse to Sete on the Mediterranean. One of the highlights will be two nights in Carcassonne a location I’ve heard so much about. So, it should be an exciting adventure, but it is definitely going to be physically challenging.
