Sicily--a whirlwind of history

This time it's off to Sicily, an island claimed by Italy, but bursting with thousands of years of multiple cultures, from Neolithic, to Greek, Carthaginian, Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Norman, German, Spanish, French, and now Italian. They’ve all ruled and contributed to the Sicilian mosaic. We’re traveling with a group of 8 French retirees and our active Italian guide on a whirlwind that not only takes us counter clockwise around the island, but also sometimes into the interior when there is a luscious Roman villa to visit, or a delectable pistachio pesto to taste. We're off and running in Sicily!
