Jorge was born in Mozambique, a Portuguese speaking nation in Southern-Eastern Africa. Kathy was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, USA. They met at the Feast of Tabernacles in Poconos in 1973, and married in December 1974 in South Africa. Jorge and Kathy have five children and ten grandchildren. Jorge worked at IBM South Africa for about 30 years and at TCM for another seven years. Kathy is a qualified school teacher and ran a large playschool for some 20 years in South Africa. They served the Church of God in South Africa since the 70's and in 2002 Jorge was ordained an elder at the Feast of Tabernacles in Uvongo, South Africa. In 2005 they immigrated to the United States and attended ABC. Since 2004 they have organized eight Feast sites in Portugal, four in Brazil and conducted various pastoral visits to Portugal, Brazil and Angola. From 2010 Jorge started to pastor the Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky congregations as well as to serve the Portuguese speaking brethren around the world. Responsibilities include the editorial material of the United Church of God in Portuguese as well as the Portuguese website (portugues.ucg.org). Kathy is responsible for administrative, admission and graduation responsibilities for Ambassador Bible College (ABC).
