The best thing either of us did before we left was Sue getting her eyes lasered - after that no more worries about losing contact lenses, river-rafting or dusty journeys through the desert.

The 'flat packs' we bought for 'compartmentalizing' our rucksacks were most excellent too!

Derek has 'discovered' (or rediscovered) languages and rollercoasters.

Sue has confirmed her belief that she can live quite happily without working - as long as she had enough money!

We're on our way home after a journey of many thousands of miles, 4 continents, 17 countries and 11 months. It's been the best thing we've ever done and recommend it to anybody.
