Time to hit the road again after over 3 years of Covid restrictions. We're ready!
We woke up this morning in Wynyard to a temperature of -19C (wind chill -32C) , so we are really ready to leave the snow & chilly temperatures! After printing out boarding passes last night close to midnight Air Canada sent notification at 6:31 this morning of an aircraft change - from their new A220-300 to an older A319-100 their oldest plane type in their fleet. :-(. Oh well, at least it wasn't canceled!
After a 90 minute delay, our flight to Vancouver was about as long as the drive from home to the Saskatoon airport. It was our first trip through the Saskatoon airport since their renos to the passenger terminal - very nice with much more space & shops. We now have numerous retail outlets post security.
We arrived in Vancouver just before 9pm local to a temperature of +10 C. We picked up our luggage (though we didn't have to) as we we would have more peace of mind keeping it with us rather than trusting the airport to keep our luggage until the morning AND transfer it to a different airline!
Due to our late arrival of 10pm at the hotel, it was too late to meet up with anyone. We decided to have a fast supper with the Colonel. KFC from the mall across the street - big city prices for sure!
Long day as it's now almost 2am at home. Our airport shuttle is booked for just before 8 am Saturday morning local time.
Some sleep tonight then we are off to Asia Saturday! Going to be over 24 hours travel time, with 17 hours in the air!
