Driving Day to PEI

Alberton, Prince Edward Island, Canada
]We set off for a long driving day to western PEI. Rhys is not usually happy to sit in his car seat for any length of time so we had a plan involving various toys, stories, music and as a last resort, Anoop sitting with him, to coax him along as needed. We figured we would be ok for the first while since he would be having his first nap in the car. He had managed a couple of long naps en route before so we were hopeful it would work out this time as well. He woke up after 30 minutes and we were worried for what lay ahead! The first place we came to was closed and the second was more of a light lunch kind of place. Since we were quite hungry, we decided to check out the pub as kids are allowed until 8 pm. We charged over as quickly as we could since it was bucketing rain by now and our umbrellas were doing a poor job of keeping all of us dry. We had a bowl of seafood chowder to start and then shared a lobster roll and fish & chips. All of it was delicious and we’ve never had such crisp batter on the fish. We had never taken Rhys out to a restaurant so we weren’t sure what to expect. He was just fine even though it took quite a while for our food to arrive and in the end we were there for almost an hour and a half!
