Off to Japan!

How lovely it was to be taken to the airport by Alisha and Oaki . The Qantas Club allowed them to join us, even though Michael is only really permitted one guest these days.

The plane left a little later than scheduled, and so we were a little concerned that we might miss our connection in Sydney. However, we made up time, and had just enough time to pop into the American Express lounge for a quick bite to eat before boarding our flight to Japan.

Premium economy class isn't quite business class (which we've grown accustomed to over the last few years - but Michael didn't have enough points this year!), but the seats were really very good and we had plenty of leg room. We took off at about 9:30pm -- just enough time to watch the end of Hunting the Wilderpeople (I think that's what it's called) that I'd watched on the first flight) and a reasonably pleasant little movie about a girl called Gilly before I donned my eye mask and nodded off to sleep.

I was a little reluctant to respond to the rude awakening for breakfast at 4:15am, but decided it might be a good idea after all.

Mmm - I guess this brings us to the next day....so on to the next entry!
