Vancouver BC is a beautiful place, especially in the summer. However there are two even stronger reasons for Ray and I heading there every July - both our grandkids have birthdays in July. Kaanan is 4 and Kave is 2 this year. We celebrated their birthday with a party on Spanish Beach with their friends. They also got a special day with Gong Gong and Po Po taking the Sky Train to the Science Museum. The going was very slow because they had to explore and examine every thing along the way. The flowers, the chicken, the tree, the hop scotch and why not? The world is so much more interesting seeing through their curious eyes. Once in the Science Museum, both kids headed straight to the human anatomy, this has nothing to do with their parents being physicians, is it? The Science Museum has lots of hands on activities, shooting balls into nets with air guns seems quite attractive to the boys there. Both kids and grandparents loved the bed time stories, They especially love it when Gong Gong got into characters and acted out the dramas. Kaanan loves super heroes and Kave's favorite is Calvin and Hobbs.
Ray and I did get to visit Queen Elizabeth Park by ourselves
. This is a large park with tennis court, golf courses, fields for many activities. We walked in the Conservatory and were surprised, in additional to the usual beautiful tropical plants, there are hundreds of birds inside the doom. I went crazy snapping "close-up" pictures of beautiful birds. What a bird lover's paradise here.
Time always goes too fast when visiting with family so we will have to settle talking to them on Face Time and hope to see them in Missouri at Christmas!
The strong attractions of Vancouver.
