Seems appropriate to me that Alice and I started our round-the-world trip with a trip to Chicago. On August 14th we flew from Detroit to Chicago for a flight connection to Dublin, Ireland. As we flew over Chicago downtown it struck me how important Detroit and Chicago, two grand cities, have played in the develop our relationship. For the better part of five years every couple of weeks Alice was headed to Chicago, or I was doing the same to Detroit.
