Made it to LA without incident. Then it took as long to get from the plane to the rental car place as it took to get from Richmond to Atlanta. THEN it took as long to get from LAX to 29 Palms (about 150 mile drive) as it took to get from Atlanta to LA. Traffic is just grotesque. There is no other word for it!
Why does anyone want to live here?

56,000 people were planning to be in Dodger Stadium. But, to quote Les Misérables, "Then it all went wrong...." So everyone hit the road. Sorry about that. You can thank the Nats.

Can't really think that 28,000 fewer cars would even have been noticeable, but I imagine they would all have been on the road anyway, en route to the game. Can't say that I was terribly sad to see Clayton Kershaw, previously the highest paid player in baseball, now only 6th, give up the lead that led to the Nationals' rise. Lifelong anti-Dodger fan, alas. Anti-Braves and Anti-Yankees, too. :-)
