A few days of rest!

Rockwood, Pennsylvania, United States
Yesterday, it was early evening when we arrived at the Hickory Hollow Campground in Rockwood. It was dusk when we were trying to set up the trailer, we didn't do any exploring of the campground. So, Roxie and David walked over to the office to register and pay for our stay after breakfast. [Explanation: At many campgrounds where the office closes at 5 p.m., if you call ahead, they will leave an envelope taped to the front door with a map showing you a map of the campground, with your assigned site marked. They will also provide the wifi password (if the campground has wifi), a list of cable channels (if cable is provided) and the rules of the campground. If you arrive unannounced, they often leave a list of available campsites posted on a cork pin-up board, white board or a chalkboard.].
We spent the majority of the day doing chores. In the afternoon, we drove into Somerset, PA, the nearest large town. It is quite a historical town, settled in 1804. Most notably, a statue in memory of those of Somerset county who gave their lives to preserve the Union. There were also memorials to those citizens of Somerset county who gave their lives in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Viet Nam War and the Afgan-Iraqui War. It was hot and we decided to head home and work on some of our blog. On the way home, we stopped and bought some ice cream to cool us down.
The following day was also relaxing. Sharon, Roxie and David went for a walk around the lake. Interestingly enough, the "path" around the lake started out being "a rider mower" made path around the first half of the lake. From there, it is a dirt road that we could walk on to complete our walk around the lake. The spring flowers were out in force! After rounding the lake, we caught a picture of the owner on his rider mower.
We decided for the last day to take a ride down to Rockwood. There was supposedly a bike path with a tunnel on it....we never found it ~ but it wound up being a long ride in the countryside. One thing we noticed is that homes, whether they be on a farm, in the country or in the suburbs have huge mowed lawns.....I mean, acres and acres of mowed lawns! I was wondering, "How do they find time to mow these huge lawns?"
We ate dinner at the trailer, prepared for the evening ~ tomorrow is "moving" day. Moving along down the road!
