Hey Hey and a Big G'Day to you
 
Up very late and after finally leaving the hotel I made my way to Xiamen University. It took me about an hour and a half to get there but I'm sure Bus No: 1 would have taken about ten minutes.  
 
But hey, you miss so much on a bus!
 
The Uni grounds are as beautiful as everyone says. The main lake area is so lush and green. Groups walk slowly and are found lazing on the grass happily chatting, couples walk hand in hand and can also be found on the grass strangely showing affection towards each other in public.
 
Go China Go! Move forwards mate!
 
I spent a great afternoon on campus walking and relaxing full of smiles. I got to chat to many of the students whom are still 'hanging around'. The campus is built along side the beach so they even have their own beach and it is just as beautiful as the Uni grounds. Me being me always try to take things a little further. Instead of being happy with the simple Uni campus I had to try to get a great shot of the campus and beach together. Of course it didn't work so if you go to the Uni, don't take the path up the hill behind the Uni grounds. You will get to a big rock with some stone tables and chairs and the track then takes you to the blocks of flats on the other side of the hill.
 
Around mid to late arvo I headed back to the city beginning slowly in the Nanputo Gardens where I met two lovely ladies from Germany. They wanted to have Mc Donald's so I introduced them to the second floor window view. They were very happy and shouted me a coffee. We chatted for a while and I then began my journey back to Lundu Wharf and a Beautiful Song.
 
I took the same route as many nights earlier (along Minzu and Lujiang Roads). Before getting to the foreshore road you are taken along some busy little streets. As it was day time I ducked behind the shop fronts down little alley ways and found a little mooring area where many little boats were tied. Here 'the catch of the day' was being unloaded from several of them. It was a great little surprise and the fishermen offered huge 'Hellowwwws' as I walked by.
 
It was a memorable short walk and if you find yourself in the area, duck down one of the little alleys and spend a colourful five or so minutes.
 
The night ended on a sad note as I watched a pair of taillights fade into the distance. I stood alone on the edge of Yuangdang Lake. I sat for what seemed hours watching couples walking by hand in hand. I'll be back in Xiamen in several days, probably not the best option due to the fact that Spring Festival will be beginning. Countless people will be making there way back to their families to celebrate the New Year.
 
But I could still hear a Beautiful Song being sung.
