Moutoullas, Lefkosia, Cyprus

OUT FOR A RIDE AT MOUTOULLAS

Mrs. Antigoni offers to drive me as far as the nearby small village of Moutoullas so that I can take some photos. It is less than a km from the village of Kalopanayiotis and if you don't know about it you might think that it is one village.

Both Kalopanayiotis and Moutoullas lay in the Valley of Marathasa, located on the Troodos range and is known for its delicious fruit with apples and cherries being the most popular .

It is fresh and cool out here in summer and during the very hot and dry days Cypriots find refuge in these villages out here.

Moutoullas is well known through the whole of Cyprus for its mineral water which is bottled and sold all over the island.

Its 13th century chapel –declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, has a steep-pitched wooden type of roof and was built around 1280. I did not have the opportunity to visit this time as the lady had to return to her job.
