Nicosia, Cyprus
Impeccable service, -Tasting the Menu is a Challenge!

The Fontana interior is fabulous creating a warm and pleasant ambience . It is a Signature restaurant in Nicosia and it is just as popular with locals as with tourists. Businessmen who stay at the Hilton love it, and this is one of the reasons that it is always packed.

Besides the wide variety of Traditional and International Buffet, it also offers the a la carte menu where guests can choose out of a variety of Signature dishes that suite all tastes.

The talented Executive Chef of the Cuisine Mr. Andrea Georgiou has several awards in his record and there is something for everyone, from the Hilton's classics to vegetarian dishes, nutrient salads and other health options.

Hilton’s Top Chefs highly recommend a few Custom-made Classics and I had the chance to try a few while there. The US Beef Burger is really great. It can be used as a base for Hilton Cheeseburger using Cheddar if somebody prefers it, or it can be made into a Bacon burger for those who love bacon .

Hilton Caesar Salad is amazing, nutrient and yummy. It can also be used as the base for other Caesar variations with chicken, prawns, blackened tuna or salmon. I had it with prawns an afternoon when I decided to skip lunch.

I tried Hilton’s Club Sandwich –I had it plain with no mayonnaise or ketchup and it was a delicious snack that accompanied my afternoon coffee.

One of the nights that I dined at Fontana, I had the grilled mixed vegetable salad from the buffet, and another one with dry figs. Both were outstanding, colourful and nutrient. Christo, the sommelier who is the Food and Beverage Coordinator suggested that I try the Chardonnay 2010. (med-ful bodied, with rich fruit and balancing acidity). Indeed it was great and it was matching perfectly with the salads and the main course which was Sea Bass from the a la carte menu. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the portion was huge. It was also nicely presented and very tasty.

Another night I had a curry dish with vegetables and different salads. This time I had some fine rose dry wine (Aes Ambelis) to accompany the multi flavoured dish of mine which Christo recommended. The Rose wine matches well with salads, meat, fish and seafood.

Now, if I had to give one word for dessert….I would simply call it "heavenly"!!

I found the restaurant superb in every aspect although a bit pricy, but I highly recommend it. It opens daily from 6.30 am to 11:00 pm.
