Elenka and I, along with Teta Zuska, flew into Prague. It was my first trip to Eastern Europe. We stayed at an apartment building about 30 minutes, by metro, from the Old Town Square. It's in a beautiful part of the world that I have returned to many, many times.
While Elenka and Teta Zuska went for a walk one afternoon I decided to have a pivo at an outdoor cafe on the busy Old Town Square. I looked at the outrageous price of $4.25CDN for a half litre and bolted. Just around the corner, maybe 50 metres from the Square, I found a more pleasant, touristless bar where the same beer was just 65 cents.
The photos were added in 2018. They were actually taken during our second trip to Prague, probably in 2000 or 2001, when we met up with Renate Schoenbach.
This entry was made simply for the record. Dated 21/06/2012.
