Can a robot really play a trumpet?

Nagoya, Chubu, Japan
Saturday morning. Have an 11:05 train to Nagoya so we decide to check out a market before leaving.   Another day-pass for the subway because it's cheaper than three trips. Lots of interesting foods that we had no idea about. Very clean and everything perfectly presented.

Back to hotel to checkout . Found the subway entry with a lift on the other side of the road. Subway fine for big cases that time of day.

Train this time is a Kodama service. This means train stops at every station although still means maybe fifteen minutes between stops. We're travelling on a couple of Kodama services, one Sakura and the rest Hikaris. These are all included on the JR Pass. We can't catch the express Nozomi and Mizuho services.

Get to Nagoya around 12pm. B Hotel Nagoya easy to find with the good directions provided although lonnnnng steps up out of the subway. Can’t check-in until 3pm but they put our bags. in storage until we come back Had a sit down in the lobby and cooled down and enjoyed the free coffee.

No idea what to do so get on the subway (another day pass but the ECO pass is only available on Sat/Sun/public holidays – Y600) and head to the Toyota Commemorative Museum.

Bit of a walk from the closest train and it’s very hot (of course). Notice a tourist bus (that looks to follow a route of sites) when we get there and decide we want to sit in the cool on a bus with no real agenda for the afternoon. Our day pass covers buses so this tourist bus is free.

Check out the museum way too fast but still manage to see the robot play the trumpet and Al gets to sit in the car/bike thing for a photo.

Rush back to bus just in time. Nice and cool.

There's a tremendous amount of money in Nagoya. This is perfectly illustrated as we pull up at an intersection and there's a black Porsche Panamera beside us a Lambo Murcielago opposite us. Pimped (and un-pimped) Mercedes CLS are everywhere.

Get off at Tokugawaen Garden – very nice. Right next to the Tokugawan Museum that we possibly also should have gone into. Have a delicious ice cream sandwich/jaffle thing then back on bus.

Get off near our hotel and check in. Nice room – similar to others but with a bit more style and with a king size bed.

Shower then out for dinner. Decide on Thai. Great food although it's a Japanese version of Thai, so quite interesting. Watch some music in the park for a bit then back home.
