Arriving 'home' in London

London, England, United Kingdom
I was not popular as I suggested a walk (with a cache in mind) at 9am as we were packed. However we managed to get a bit lost so were later back than intended. It made no difference as we were still at the Gare de Nord in plenty of time for our Eurostar. We had to get new tickets and then the booking had to be redone as a confirmation had not happened. It meant we were going to be sitting apart but we were able to change seats once on the train. I got to this stage in the blog just as the train went under the sea.

The trip into London also went smoothly . We caught the underground straight to the local main station, took the lift up, then a mincab to the house where Don was there to meet us, having chosen to work from home for the day. We sorted out the stuff we won't need for the next month and had a welcome drink. Margaret was home before 6pm and we talked about travel (they had been to France in June), family (the first 2 grandchildren are due in a few months and their son and his daughter are arriving in London in a couple of days), computers (Don provides training for testers and is running a course for the next 3 days) and lots more. Finally we retired to bed in the spare room they have in their loft.
