Auckland pit stop

Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand
We arrived in Auckland after a relatively smooth flight. Chris was immediately in geocaching mode but was 'persuaded' that we had other priorities. After strolling over to the International lounge and checking the time John relented and let her hunt for a nearby (700m) cache as long as she was back by 10am. She arrived back on time empty handed.
We then moved upstairs and went through customs quickly although John was 'specially selected' for an explosives check. When the guy apologised he was reminded that we were very pleased to see this check being done. John was very pleased also he had his brand new undies on in case they needed to check his 'credentials'.
We are now sitting waiting for our gate to open. We've just had some sushi and dropped a quick message to the bank. So far so good.

Arrived in Singapore about 30 minutes early after quite a relaxing flight. We managed a small amount of sleep but considering it was a day time flight we were quite keen to not overdo the sleep to help us adjust to the 4 hour time difference. We had minor issues with the people in front dropping their seats then hunching over their screens - why?? Because we were near the end of the queue when boarding the attendant had to pack JB's bag a few rows back. It was a minor hassle as he had some bits n pieces he would have liked to have had access to. No big drama though. CB sat next to a German fellow who was quite pleasant but did spill his water on her - 'well it was lucky it wasn't my red wine.." was his comment. From Chris - the poor fellow was embarrassed and it was a remark a minute or so later . We both laughed.
Got through customs quickly and didn't have to wait too long for our bags. The airport was fairly quiet which made for a relaxing stroll to the taxi stand. We had a straight forward ride to the pub although the driver had an annoying habit of pumping the accelerator which made for a very jerky ride.
After setting up in our 7th floor room we then went for a brief stroll to get our bearings and to stretch our legs. Chris also collected a cache from over the road - we had both worked out where ti was but it was too busy first time to check properly. John was back in bed by 10pm to watch Lydia Ko on the box, and then sleep zzzzz.

Great to hear you are on your way! Enjoy, what an exciting itinerary! Especially pleased to read that you had your new underwear on when undergoing an explosives search! Too funny! Love Trish and Rex x
