Agadir, Souss-Massa-Draa, Morocco
An easy departure today as we weren’t being picked up until 10.30am – hooray for a relaxed get-up & breakfast! We even had time to sit in the sun for half an hour after checking out; just our luck it was 28deg as we’re going home. We did see lots of different modes of transport on our way to the airport though, a nice reminder of how different life can be here.
It was also an easy 40 min journey to the airport which is nice but not huge: 2 cafes with extortionate prices – the table of 4 near us had a coke & a packet of crisps each, which cost them the equivalent of £40!! We made do with bottles of water & a snack from our bags plus lots of strolling round looking at the shops & generally stretching our legs.
An afternoon flight let us have a great view of all the greenhouses growing tomatoes near Agadir, then the coast and mountains of Morocco. It was good to view some very interesting land shapes over Portugal, then lakes and towns in Spain followed by snow on the Pyrenees and sunset over Brittany.
It had been raining in Lancashire but very kindly stopped for us to land & we could actually see the ground full of twinkly lights in Manchester. It was a real shock to be in the very cool 8deg of evening while waiting for the car park bus, but a smooth trouble-free journey home finished off the day very nicely.
We had a great holiday - & we’ve only scratched the surface of Morocco, but have lots of pictures to remind us of the lovely places we’d seen, and memories to treasure. It’s very different to here, but all the better for that.
