Wednesday 11 February Barnbougle

Warm and sunny 25

This morning we had a tee time of 9 .30 and Dad had organised for me to join him on the cart which was perfect for me as I was still not 100%. The cart comes with a caddy and todays caddy was Stan a local from Bridport who had been caddying for 10 years here. He had lots of suggestions but like all well laid plans they don't always go to plan. When Stan said to stay left of the bunker Dad usually found himself in the bunker and so forth and so on. We did enjoy the day and once again Dad was the winner and Chris 2nd. After golf we took a drive down to Lost Farm to check out the golf shop and restautants available there. We are booked to eat at Barnbougle but thought a barbeque at Lost Farm would be a nice alternative for tonight. Then we went wine tasting at Pipers Brook and Jansz Vineyard. We like the Chardonnay and some of the Jansz sparkling so purchased a few bottles. Our next stop was the Lavender Farm which was about 20km down the road. We arrived just before it closed but managed to pick up a few things.

Tonight is dinner at Lost Farm in the Sprig Bar, this was not ideal as there was a group of people who were quite loud and also running late which delayed our stat at the BBQ. Nevertheless it didn't make much difference as Dad and I had a game of pool which proved very interesting, first we didn;t know the rules so consulted with Chris who told us but we got a few facts wrong and sunk the black ball first which meant that the game was over before it began. Anyway lots of fun. and the dinner was good too.
