The Beach of Lambinou

Tsagkarada, Thessaly, Greece

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!

This particular beach is one of my favourite .

It is secluded and is the kind of beach I like to swim in. Anyway, to come here we followed the road from Tsagkarada. The beach is 4km away from the main road and it goes downhill to the beach.

As we approach there is a sign that indicates that cars should come to a halt at the plateau, so we park the car and get to the beach on foot. (A 5 minute walk the maximum)

The small tavern/coffee shop is like an oasis out here and the owners provide sunbeds, umbrellas and a shower with cold water to customers.

I found this small bay charming. The rocks form different caves where some years back there lived the Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus).

**Tip for hikers:

Starting point the square of the village of Milies. Walk initially on the kalderimi (cobblestone path) to Tsagkarada.

You reach the kiosk, turn right and then follow a narrow path downhill to get to the village of Lambinou.

Continue downhill on kalderimi to Lambidona monastery and end up at Lambinou beach.

It is an amazing 3.50 minute walk.

This is a provisional route containing several detours because there are times when sections of the original path remain blocked by vegetation.
