Final day at work and finally feeling confident that everything is completed and organised. Apparently we may get snow this week in the UK, just as well that we are heading off to Rio where it is a cool 27 degrees. We have managed to map our route to ensure we make up for the lost summer, so we'll feel for you as the sleet cuts across you on the way into work on Monday mornings. That is certainly one thing that won't be missed.
We have so many beautiful and interesting places to visit on our trip but it has all seemed so surreal in the run up, but alas it is nearly upon us and the reality is beginning to bite. Handgliding in Brazil, trekking Machu Pichu, Christmas in Columbia, the next few months are going to be very exciting... Watch this space.

I am the first to comment and my only comment is that I'm pleased to see that you plan to trek up to Machu Pichu. When I planned to go there in 2005 my travel partner was planning to take the train up there, which I think is cheating. So very pleased you plan to get up there on your own steam alone.
