Daegu, South Korea
Daegu gets ready to host the world athletic track and field IAAF games at the end of August. The city has been decorated on every major street with flags from all the participating countries. This is an exciting time for korean sports as they have also just been awarded the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, continuing the tradition of hosting major sporting events such as the 1988 Summer Olympics and 2002 Fifa World Cup

Here is a promo video for the Daegu games highlighting many features of my hometown

The media and the internet are also a buzz promoting these two major sporting events in recent headlines. Here are some highlights along with some articles by fellow bloggers.

I have also been lucky to have been awarded a Press Pass for the IAAF games as a blogger for TheKoreaBlog. This means I have free admission to the 9 day event (even though I had already purchased tickets for the opening ceremonies and closing ceremonies weekend) and access to the Press Zone for photographers.
