Sandwiched between the prominent LOTTE and LG Pavilions there is forest art sculpture hiding the GS Caltex Pavilion. As you walk into the forest of pillars you will see the building and entrance in which isn't clearly visible from the outside.
This pavilion was not as busy, probably as people don't realize its there. Noticing my press pass they called over an english guide to give me a tour. I was taken in thru the staff elevator to the main exhibit hall.
Here there were many statistics and exhibits of the petroleum industry. My guide was explaining stuff but its not the most engrossing subject. When I said I almost walked by this pavilion he said that was the intention, to be a part of everyday life but not to be obvious about it.
Then we went into a circular movie room. The projection plays 360 degrees on all walls and is short film about a mermaid and whale. For the finale you wave your hand in the air and try to find your shadow on the circular walls.
Finally we were taken out to see exhibits on on the refinery process. There were vases of the different types of crude oil and 24 hour time lapse films sped up of the massive Caltex refinery located a few kms away from the Yeosu Expo site.
They have also built a performing arts centre in the region and there were interior shots of the auditorium and performance schedule.
