Arrival in Santo Domingo

Toronto Pearson International Airport, Ontario, Canada
This week I was doing another winter air miles trip. I had downgraded a card as I didnt want to pay their $120 annual fee. After a month they emailed me a promo to upgrade back, they will offer 20,000 miles, plus a $120 travel credit. So I get the card for free and travel miles.
Having been to Cuba and Mexico next I wanted to goto Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. This was the first city in the America's founded by Christopher Columbus.
My flight was 6am so I needed a 4am cab to get me to the airport for $45. On take off it was all clouds so no views of Niagara or the city. On descent it opened up. There were green hills and small towns.
It took one hour to get thru passport control and I exchanged $50 USD for 2600 Pesos. Wiki travel said a local bus comes to the airport but I couldnt see in arrivals or departures. The cab drivers wanted $40 USD and one eventually agreed to $25 USD when I was walking away.
My hotel was right at the taxi stand facing Parque Indepencia. I chilled in my room for a bit which had a balcony overlooking Calle Conde the pedestrian street.
After a while I went out to look for something to eat and orient myself. Lots of ladies kept asking me for massages. The hotel had said I could bring people in but would charge $12 USD past 11pm.
I found a cranberry chicken burger for 295P ($7). They also had a macaroni and cheese burger but it had bacon bits so I couldnt try that one later.
