Just Beautiful! (El Nido, Philippines)

El Nido, Palawan, Philippines
Island hopping for snorkeling and diving is a big draw for people visiting El Nido. There are mainly 4 tours you can take on the boats. Each one visits different islands. It seems the most popular tours are A and C. So, those are the ones I chose. Each trip lasts the entire day.

The boat anchors off-shore at most of the islands . On occasion you can wade to shore from the boat, but for many of the islands you have to swim from the boat to the shore.

The beaches and scenery are amazing. And the turquoise-green water is so clear and colorful, it is hard to describe.

You are given the chance at most of the islands to swim or snorkel and get off and roam around the islands, each one is very different. You are surrounded by huge rock cliffs and the colorful sea life is really wonderful here! It is so awesome in the Philippines.

Lunch is provided on the boat and snacks are given throughout the day. The group I was with were a lot of fun and were travelers from all around the world.

Both of these island hopping trips are jewels and I am glad I did not miss them. The only downside for me was getting to a lot of the beaches.

You swim a ways in the deeper water from the boat toward the island . But, when the water gets too shallow to swim, you wade the rest of the way to shore. The problem for me was, though, the sharp rocks you have to walk on at this points. They are large and small and your foot gets caught in-between them. When you step on them they are very sharp and you can get a lot of cuts. If you have tender feet like mine it is very difficult to make it to shore.

Another day I walked from El Nido to Las Cabanas beach outside of town. It was about 3 miles from town, but I like to walk and it is the best way to see things along the way you would otherwise miss.

I spent the day lounging around reading on the beach and swimming off and on. It was a beauty of a spot! I put a few photos of the beach at the end of the Island hopping photos.

There is not need to write a lot about this adventure. The photos say it all. So enjoy the beauty of the Philippines in some of the pictures I got!

God's Awesome creation is a reminder of His Power. What a beautiful place to visit. Such clear water and the sandy beaches remind me of beaches in parts of California. Only one picture of food. What was your favorite food on the island tour? It seems our winter is about over, cool here now, lots of rain. Sandra cracked a bone in her foot in Feb. still having a problem with it. Hope to see you soon. Love you brother.

The water and islands are totally gorgeous in the Philippines. Yeah, I never have many photos or comments about food. I am not a 'foodie' in the sense many people are. The food in the places for most people are one of the most important things. I just eat here and there and my real interest as I travel is history and nature. The Philippines is full of 'fast food' places (American influence). Lot of fried chicken, though!
