Flying to Paphos

Paphos, Paphos, Cyprus
With flying at 9am we had to be up pretty early to get to Manchester Airport (NOT my favourite time of day!) so breakfast was in the airport – in my case a scrummy bowl of porridge with fresh fruit. The car was parked at JetParks Plus, bus to the terminal & we left a very grey & cloudy Manchester - the flight was uneventful, if a little bumpy at times, but we had some great views over the mountains of Greece and Turkey. Our arrival into Paphos was marked by clear skies & 30 deg - exactly what we'd come for, & a nice welcome.

The Akteon Village hotel surpassed all expectations – it’s a collection of low-rise buildings of 2 storeys on the coast, set in gardens around a huge pool. We’d booked a double room, but on check in found we’d been upgraded to a one bed suite with sea view! It turned out to have a large lounge, big bedroom & HUGE balcony - the travel agent had requested it as it’s R’s birthday while we’re here, but as you don’t always get what you want, we felt very lucky.

Some of the reviews had slated the food (we’re All Inclusive) & said it just catered for the large Russian clientele, but we’ve discovered we must like Russian food! The only discernible difference is that there are very few vegetables, but there’s tons of salad-type stuff & veges mixed in with meat so it was absolutely fine.

We were up at 4am to get to the airport so after quite an early dinner we chilled in the bar for a bit then headed to our luxury home. We'd managed to see the first sunset of our stay too - the hotel is famed for them, and we could see why. Roll on tomorrow.
