From being exposed to many germs on airplanes and in crowded arena, as well as breathing in icy air inside said arena for 10 or more hours a day, I have developed a rather nasty cold. Decided that it would be better to stay in on Saturday and watch the 3/4 matchup and the 1/2 matchup on television so that I would be well enough to go on Sunday and watch the semi-final and final in person. No way I want to miss that, after all this! And I won't likely ever come back and do this again, so tomorrow is a must-do!
I also suddenly found myself with another looming deadline--the workshop I'm giving for IB in St. Louis at the beginning of April was supposed to be shared with another leader, and IB contacted us and asked us to each do a separate one. (The deadline for materials was last week, and we met it.) So now I had to do over all the sessions that my ex-partner was going to do. I could have tried to figure out, based on the files she made available to participants, what she would have done, but really, it's a lot easier to do it my way. So...that's what I did. I stayed in the hotel room and watched the two games on television and did the extra work.
The two games were great. The two teams I wanted to win did win, but they were both extremely well-played and demanded of the winning team really incredible shot execution at the end of the game, so fun for everyone.
Temperature dropped down a few degrees back to around -11, so the heat wave was short-lived. Supposed to be more of the same tomorrow. I think if I had not encountered this kind of weather when I lived in the mid-west, I would have found it quite difficult to negotiate this week. Thanks to Tim, who dragged me into sub-zero climes!
