Hey Hey and a Big G'Day toya

Here is the first of the 'Uncle Shane Do You Eat Cats & Dogs & Bats & Frogs' food entries.

Besides eating dogs, cats, rats and bats I manage to also sit down to a bowl or two of very normal food once in a while. Over the past week I've chosen my favourite little 'hole in the wall eateries' to sit at and take some happy snaps for my friends and family so they can see what I 'normally' eat during the week.

And not a health inspector in sight!

Over the past year and a bit that I've been living in Shaowu city I've managed to eat my way around most of the cities pokey little restaurants. These ones are very much at the top of my list for both their delicious food and the happy smiles from the owners and the people that eat there.

Most also seem to have less 'Bugs & Crawly Things' racing around the place.

Today while walking around at lunch time I met some friends who were in search of something delicious to eat. We all decided to head to one of my favourite little eateries near the bus station. They ordered and all was awesome but as usual I gave the chicken feet a miss. It's not that they taste bad or that eating actual chicken feet bothers me in anyway, it's just that there really is no point in eating them.

No meat and all gristle.
They are very much at the top of the 'waste of time' food list I have here in China.

After school and after a walk along Pagoda Hill I decided to head across the river to the 'other' part of town. Here can be found dozens of little 'hole in the wall' eateries and most of them are awesome to eat at. Amongst these eateries can found road side market carts offering almost anything you wish to eat. Simply point at the dish or two you wish to feast upon and the lady will wok it up for you right on the side of the road. On this night I chose what I ate much of back in Tianyang town in Guangxi Province.

Snow peas and liver with a big steaming bowl of rice.
Everything is fresh and it is always delicious.

Beers N Noodles full of creepy crawlies toya.....shane

The soundtrack to this delicious entry was from some one who is very
much as strange as a lot of the food I eat...the lovely Bjork.
The album was 'Homogenic'
